Is this why sense of scale feels off in MWO?

I was randomly recording my solo adventures yesterday when this little glitch happened:

We know that the 'Mech models are actually scaled correctly (they show up huge when you export the 3D models), but the cockpit seems to be just gigantic compared to the 3D model.
